EV Connect platform receives GSA approval

Advanced EV charging management and related services will be available through five main EV Connect contractors.

EL SEGUNDO, California., July 26, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — In proud support of the ongoing electrification of the US government’s 650,000 vehicles fleet, EV Connect announces that its products and services are now available in the United States General Service Management (GSA) Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA) for state purchases of the best value electric vehicle service equipment (EVSE) and ancillary services. Under the BPA and through its approved partners, dim, Ameresco, district fleet, PLEMCoand cover, government customers and federal contractors can choose EV Connect to purchase the EV infrastructure needed to support the federal government‘s climate and fleet electrification goals. In return, EV Connect will help its partners simplify the process of implementing EV infrastructure for their federal customers by offering turnkey EV charging solutions that include charging stations, installation, site preparation, station activation, station management software, support, ongoing maintenance and more.

“At EV Connect, we firmly believe that it takes the industry as a whole to work together to meet the federal government‘s ambitious goals for zero-emission transportation and mitigating climate change,” he said Scott Kaptur, Head of Federal Sales at EV Connect. “Through invaluable relationships like that with our partners under the GSA EVSE agreement, we can streamline and simplify EV charging and better position ourselves to achieve widespread EV adoption across the country.”

The recently issued government-wide $220 million EVSE BPA establishes a streamlined procurement process for the federal government to purchase Electric Vehicle Utility Equipment (EVSE) and ancillary services. The GSA EVSE BPA includes Level 2 charging stations, DC fast chargers, site planning services, installation, smart charging software and other EVSE related solutions. The GSA has established 16 BPA holders and multiple brands to guide agencies through advisory and support services that simplify the buying process, reduce lead time and associated costs, help companies meet planned EVSE goals, and provide access to providers who meet security and privacy requirements.

Since 2010, EV Connect has simplified the setup, management and optimization of charging stations, from installation to driver support. Because of its extensive EVC Affiliate Program, EV Connect customers can select the charging station hardware that best suits their needs and gain access to real-world insights and aggregated data views to analyze charging station usage to enable network and station owners to make informed decisions about the deployment and future planning of Network impact and direct investments in the charging infrastructure. The EV Connect platform also helps streamline EV charging station operations by enabling owners to remotely monitor the station’s performance in near real-time and adjust alerts when a charger experiences a fault, loss of communication or other issues. The platform includes everything from localized to global enterprise monitoring and station management, advanced features such as demand response capabilities, load balancing technology to avoid overdrafts, and a robust authentication and transaction processing system that ensures secure, authorized use.
